This home was in a state of neglect and disrepair when the clients fell in love with the home’s location and park-like setting, and they knew it would take considerable magic to turn the house into a functionable and architecturally pleasing home where they would feel comfortable.
Both the interior and the exterior of this home needed considerable reimagining. The leaky greenhouse was removed down to the stones, and a new sunroom was added in its place. The main entrance was moved to the front of the house, and a fireplace was incorporated into the design. Walls were removed in the living space to create a more open concept space that would allow the clients to comfortably entertain guests, and the kitchen was expanded. The primary bedroom was given a new doorway into a dressing room and bathroom. The former shower became a water-closet and a beautiful large shower was added. A former steam room became a walk-in closet. Moldings and lighting were updated to add cottage charm. The run-down house has become transfigured into a charming cottage that exudes character; finally the home is worthy of its beautiful setting.
